House Speaker Mike Johnson is a Neoconservative Warmonger
2003 is calling, it wants its talking points back.
New House Speaker Mike Johnson must think he was elected to lead the Knesset, Israel’s parliament. I can find no other explanation for this news story from ABC:
New House Speaker Mike Johnson, as one of his first moves, is forcing a showdown over emergency aid to Israel.
He's pushing a vote Thursday on a bill that would provide more than $14 billion to the American ally -- but not include $61 billion in aid to Ukraine as President Joe Biden, House and Senate Democrats -- and even many Senate Republicans -- want tied to the same measure.
Unbelievable. Johnson’s first act as Speaker was to give money to a foreign power.
Johnson is willing to go to the mattresses for $14 billion for “Our Greatest Ally” but wouldn’t think of doing the same for America. Do you know how much Trump’s wall would have cost? In 2020, far-right extremist publication NPR pegged it at a measly $11 billion.
Sending money to Israel instead of solving the border crisis is the GOP’s way of flipping the bird to their constituents. They don’t care and they never did.
Mike Johnson says that he is “a Bible-believing Christian... Go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it, that's my worldview. That's what I believe.”
Apparently the Bible commands Americans to spend their hard earned money helping Ukraine fight Russia. I must have missed that verse.
The Bible apparently also commands American politicians to pose with the flag of a foreign power and to give them money. Johnson quotes Genesis in the tweet below but it requires an enormous exegetical jump to believe that the Israel of Genesis is the same as the modern state that calls itself Israel.
For instance, Galatians 6:14-16 reads as follows:
14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
According to St. Paul the new “Israel of God” is not formed through circumcision under the old covenant but through those who “walk according to this rule” namely that we are saved “in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Answer me this, Mr. Speaker, do the Jews of the modern state of Israel walk in the faith that saves through Christ alone? Inquiring minds want to know!
I am old enough to remember the lead-up to the Iraq War. Seeing American politicians unironically referencing a “new Axis of Evil” is depressing. It means these people have learned absolutely NOTHING from the last two decades of American foreign policy failures in the middle east. The bloodlust of the neoconservative knows no limits:
Mike Johnson has baptized his Middle East warmongering in a delusional interpretation of scripture. There is absolutely nothing Christian about cheering on bloody wars on the other side of the globe and sending hard earned taxpayer cash (and threatening to send American troops) into these meat grinder wars.
I’m done with these sanctimonious nice guy politicians who talk about their dedication to “faith” and “family” as they lick their chops at the prospect of global war. I’m done with their bullshit. I’m tired of their idiotic readings of the Bible, their sheer unmitigated foreign policy stupidity, and their self-righteousness.
I am at the point where if I hear anyone in public life talking about how much they love the Bible and small business, I automatically assume they are preparing to stick a knife in my back at the first possible moment.
America needs leaders who actually care about AMERICA. Crazy, I know.
All these people are a joke. They won’t stop any of the worst policies that they themselves created and no one asked for except their American people hating donors. They will never claim responsibility for what they’ve done or continuing to do. Personally, I don’t believe any of them are Christians. They prove their not by their own actions and this is another example. They all belong to the cults of Mammon and Sodom.
Oh hey, no arguments there from me! I say f*ck Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan! Americans first, always, only, forever. Cutting funding for “The Fed” automatically makes him not a neoconservative by default. The first step is starving those f*ckers out. The Wall is a moot point until we’re back in charge, unfortunately.
