A source within the Army National Guard informs me that he was briefed this last December that misgendering a transgender soldier could result in punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. I would be outraged, but this is all par for the course. The slippery slope is real.

Army Regulation 600-20 (General Command Policy) underwent major updates on 24 July 2020, including the incorporation of Army Directive 2015-39 (Inclusion of Sexual Orientation in the Military Equal Opportunity Program) which was the previous regulation of Sexual Orientation (trans included) issues.
Now that AD 2015-39 is officially integrated into AR 600-20 and falls under the Military Equal Opportunity program, one can claim Misgendering as harassment, and which directly violates MEO policy and can lead to an Article 15. Thus, misgendering someone can lead to potenial loss of pay, loss of rank, and extra duty.
One has to address someone by the pronouns they have listed in DEERS, and one needs to consult their unit's Admin NCO if they are unsure of another servicemember's preferred pronouns, especially in cases where the person hasn't actually undergone any surgeries or therapies (i.e. they still look like a dude). This is what we were briefed in December.
Transgenderism is the current liberal cudgel against ordinary decent Americans. The military has instituted lying as official policy. You must lie—call a man a woman or a woman a man—in order to keep your job. Refusing to lie is grounds of punishment. An Army Chaplain has already been reprimanded for making mildly disparaging comments on Facebook about transgender troops in combat.
Joining the military today is to sign up for perpetual ritual humiliation and ideological browbeating. To young men who may be reading—do not join. It isn’t worth it. The woke military cannot be saved from the inside.
