I don’t know much about Hillsdale. I am a dedicated leftist and non-believer, but I did find the emphasis on great books refreshing. Of course, I’m a biochemist as well, but I definitely believe in the “great papers” pedagogical method, which is grappling with the work that came before you

I think I’d have found Hillsdale an intellectually engaging place. Let me ask you bluntly: would I have found friends?

I don't think it's right to mash pro-Palestine rallies and leftists together. Isn't Palestinian position of living on their land and protecting their borders close to average traditional American?

The vast majority of Pro-Palestine protestors in the United States are left-wing. It may be different in other countries, but in the U.S. those ideas work together.

If it were up to me, I'd have Barron learn Greek and Latin, read the great books (that includes the great mathematicians like Euclid and Gauss), and give him a private tutor for support. He wouldn't get a fancy piece of paper at the end, but he would learn how to think.
